One year later, I received a phone call from that same wonderful, sweet, loving man, asking me out on a date tomorrow evening to celebrate the anniversary of the happiest moment of his life.

Sometimes I really feel like the luckiest girl in the world. *smilez*

Dearest love from work, Melissa, has left for greener pastures. Sobz. Super super sad that she's leaving but am happy for her.

I'm so gonna miss all the fun times we had together at work. Farewell lunch for her at a Thai Restaurant near our office. Can't wait to see her again this Thursday for dinner!

Kuzzie Melvin tied the knot over last weekend. Attended their Holly Matrimony on Saturday at Toa Payoh Methodist Church. Loving the super pretty candy bar set up!

Saturday evening was reserved for Christina's birthday celebration, one of my dearest friend from Primary School at Moon Hotel. It was one crazy night filled with laughter, random shuffling to Party Rock Anthem (haha!) and tons of catch up session.

The hunt for the perfect wedding dress - Part I

This Saturday, Mel and I, coupled with 2 of my besties Drey and Huihui in hand, went on a hunt for the perfect Wedding Dress.

I've heard rave reviews on Amanda Lee Wedding's evening wear and The Wedding Present's bridal gown so these two were the top of my to-visit list.

To be frank, I was rather disappointed with Amanda Lee Wedding's Bridal Collection - for the main gown at least. There was not much gowns off the rack that really caught my eye. I'm looking to have a made-to-measure gown but I was hoping for a few off the rack gowns that I could use as inspiration but none really stuck a chord with me. ALW evening gowns were gorgeous though.

Good thing about ALW is they are not pushy with their sales because I'm super turned off by pushy brial studios. They make you feel like the whole thing is about you and they are there to help you create your perfect day, not only to sell.

We headed over to The Wedding Present next.

When we first stepped in, we were totally blown away by their (Main Bridal Gown) collection! We were greeted by wedding designer Alan whom I have to say is the bomb! He asked me what style I like or have in mind for the dress so he can pick out a few gowns off the rack for me to try on.

Ater listening to my preference, he told me to try on this one gown that he pulled off the rack. The minute I put it on, I thought I died and gone to Bridal Heaven. I'm serious! I fell in love with it and all the other dresses that I tried later seems incomparable to that very first dress. Drey and Huihui couldn't agree more! That dress is gonna be the perfect inspiration for my made-to-measure! Shall not disclose any picture on that perfect dress here till later!

On a seperate note, I have to say that I have such awesome besties. They were like super besties! They had no experience what-so-ever in dressing a bride but after the 2nd Bridal Boutique, I have to say they are the Pros! And Huihui was the cutest - she was secretly holding onto her iPhone every time we head into the changing room so that she can snap pictures of me in each dress for future reference.

After the visit to TWP, Drey headed off for a wedding dinner while Hui and I had a double date together with our bfs. Dinner at Newton Circus then off to Marble Slab Creamery for some Ice Cream and boardgames fun.

It was a SUPER FUN SATURDAY!

Just got a call yesterday from Lightedpixels that Kelvin Koh, the photographer I was so bent on having for my actual day and pre-wedding photography, has been booked by another couple who has the same wedding date as Mel and I next year.

And to think I though I was already so Kiasu for confirming 1 1/2 years in advance! *sigh* So upsetting. =(

Thank god all's not lost yet as Alwin, who's the other photography from Lightedpixels is also amazing. Mel and I have set an appointment with Alwin to discuss further next Wednesday. Hope all goes well. =)

Hair Therapy with the Besties recently. Huihui & I both coloured and temporary curled our locks while penny decided to straighten hers. Such irony!

Tea at Goodwood Park withn 2 out of the 4 besties one random afternoon.

Didn't take much photos that afternoon cause we were just too busy catching up!

We shopped for a bit after tea at goodwood and got matching pink cuffs for everyone!

Drey and I continued to shop coz Huihui had to rush off for dinner and we got ourselves another matching cuffs - this time in white!

Candy (part of my primary school girlie gang) finally got her love nest all done up and invited us to her house warming. So happy and proud of her! A home to call her own.

My dearest little kuzzy turned 21 recently and held her Party at this service apartment at Grand Copthorne. The place was gorgeous, with a awesomely huge outdoor balcony where you can barbecue!

Anyways, it warms my heart to see my little kuzzy all grown up. In my mind, she's always this little girl running around with matching outfits as my lil sis!

It's the time of the year again...the Great Singapore Sale is here!!

Its that time every year when you let yourself go and shop till you (almost) drop coz shopping during this period is like spending to save!! That's like my own theory lah, one that Melvin does not agree. But I believe there's lotsa girls out there who agrees with me to! haha

Anyways, my first buy for this GSS - Ferragamo Heels!! *Loves*

Poor Melvin got summoned down to the Ferragamo Boutiques at Ion, Paragon and Taka during his lunch break to reserve the heels in my size. He spent his entire lunch time running to and fro the 3 boutiques. That dear boy deserve one big fat smooch!!

Dearest besties were in cahoots with Mel and they dropped me a major surprise when I landed in Singapore and saw them waiting for me at arrival with balloons, banner and a DIY message card!! FYI, I landed in Singapore at about 5.30 - 6am!!

I heard that Drey (the dearest one who's always late for appointments) actually sleptover at Penny's so that she can be woken up and reach on time. Love my girlies to bits.

Can't wait for my bday celebration with them this coming Saturday. =)

Made use of the extra holiday due to Labour day for the chance to bring the furkids to Sentosa for a swim and Grandpa and Grandma (together with auntie Olivia) came along for a day under the sun!

Whisky is such a water dog! He couldn't wait to get his fur paws in the water for a splashing good time. Pebbles the prissy princess on the other hand, much prefer to just lounge under the sun.

The family went to MBS together over the weekend for a day out with the foggies to celebrate mummy's special day! Heard parking at MBS was crazy so we parked our cars somewhere around Marina and took a shuttle into MBS. It definately felt like a school excursion back in those days! =D

Our intention was to bring mummy into Pandora boutique at MBS coz that's where we are intending to get Part I of her gift. But before we can "innocently" guide her into the Pandora boutique, mummy was drawn to the pretty charms and walked into the boutique herself! Imagine her suprise look when we told her to choose what she liked as Part of her gift! She walked out the shop one happy lady!

Mummy decided to get 3 charms - one to represent each of us (her precious little girls)!! haha

Drey's Pole Performance

My dearest bff have been learning pole for sometime and she was so excited when she got chosen to be part of groove's dance showcase last Saturday. The whole bimbz gang went down to support our dearest baby bimbz for her first pole performance!!

It was rather disappointing actually. The event was very badly organized but Drey was good! And we had fun just hanging nonetheless!

It was 4 days of quality time with my dearest girlfriends in Bali.

As what Penny said during the trip, "the nicest part of this trip is the time we get to spend together." I couldn't agree more!

Back home, we meet up for brunch and then we leave for something else; we meet up for dinner then we leave for something else; we meet to shop then we leave for something else. But during this trip, we had 4 days to ourselves to catch up on each others' lives, to share gossip and simply just time for oursleves to hang and chill together.

This trip definately made us much closer than we already are.

And we are already planning our trip: Bangkok!

Valentine's Day 2011

I've been meaning to blog about Valentine's day but somehow I just never got down to it. Since Mel is busy gaming, I shall take the time to blog about it now. =)

A little while back, Mel and I were window shopping and both of us sorta fell in love with this (different) Burberry watch. Problem is, the watch cost more than a thousand (each) and since we were trying to save up, both of us decided not to get our watches.

But just before CNY, I got my bonus and I thought what-the-heck, I'll get the watch as a Birthday-cum-Valentine's day gift for him. Since his birthday falls around Valentine's day, I usually just get him one bigger present every year.

I wanted it to be a surprise so I went sneaking around behind his back and got Quan to get the watch for me (coz Quan got some staff discount on the deal)! Quan gave me a call one afternoon before Valentine's day informing me that Mel was browsing his watch and intends to get it for him self! When I have already reserved a pair for him!! Thank god Quan was smart enough to guide him away from buying!

On Valentine's day when I received my gift from Mel then did I realize, he was actually also sneaking around behind my back on his end, asking Quan to buy the Burberry watch for me!as well! We're both super happy with our gifts and we sorta have a couple watch now. =)

Mel decided to personally wrap me a bouquet this Valentine's. This was his 2nd attempt at it and I have to admit, the bouquet he wrapped this time round was really beautiful.

Valentine's dinner was a simple BBQ at his backyard garden. Here's what I come to realize, anytime spent with someone you love dearly is simply the best time spent.

Clarence was back in Dec '10 / Jan'11 for a short holiday before he headed back to Aussie so we did what friends do when someone is back for a short holiday - we went drinking!

I have a confession to make. I have an addiction, an addiction to shopping that is.

I cannot go pass 3 days without buying anything. I tried, I swear I did. But somehow, I always managed to come up with reasons and excuses to shop! In December, it was the need to shop for Christmas. Now, it's the need to shop for Chinese New Year. And there's amazing end of season sale everywhere and the deals are just too amazing to ignore!

Speaking of which, I just made another order on F21 online. I sure know how SHE feels.

Felt like 2010 went by in a flash! I can still vividly remember 2009 happenings and before I know it, 2010 is gone! Shucks. Time really flies.

Let me do a recap on 2010 happenings before I forget them altogether.

1. Started the year off as a crazy shopaholic.

2. Was a really really good year at work.

3. Became a bridesmaid (to Melissa) for the first time.

4. Got my best friend her 1st Tiffany.

5. Got my first miu miu - partially sponsored by my bestie girlfriends.

6. Brought my parents on a trip to Hong Kong with my hard earned money and saw my parents relived their childhood.

7. Visited Universal Studios Singapore with my (extended) family i.e. family plus bfs and saw my parents relived their childhood again. =)

8. Spent more quality time with my bestie girlfriends.

9. Visited Japan for the first time.

10. Mel proposed and we got engaged in Japan. =)

11. Got my first Prada. Super pretty pink tote from Japan. Sweeeeeet!

12. Went house hunting together with Mel which I have to say was really fun!

13. Applied for our first HDB flat together at Punggol - results still not out so not sure if we got it yet!

14. Ate Impala meat for the first time.

15. Ended the year as a crazy shopaholic

I believe I could go on forever! There's so much to update.

4th Anniversary

This is such an overdue post!! Our 4th Anniversary was like beginning of December? It's almost New Year now... haha. But like they always say, better late than never!

Poor Mel had to work half day on the 1st day of our 2 day celebration. But it was alright with me since his office is so nicely situated in the middle of Orchard Road! I had a blast catching up with my shopping while waiting for him to end work.

Mel got me my fav, Tulips, which are troublesome flowers according to him coz they are so fragile and need super lots of TLC. But I told him they're just like me (the TLC part only lah).

4 Years

It's our anniversary today and I've got a whole surprise planned out for Mel. I don't think he suspects anything at all! So excited! He's at work for first half of the day while I execute my plan.

And the Clock Strikes Twelve

I wanted a nice night out so Mel and I headed over to Mulligan's at Clark Quay for dinner and drinks after work. I had Bangers and Mash (the typical) while Mel had Beef Shepard's Pie.

Their Bangers and Mash was so-so but the Shepard's pie was amazingly good! I was pleasantly surprise since Mulligan feels like a very boorish-beerish kind of hang-out place (think German, beer and sausages).

Mel had a Bocktail (yes that's what they call it!) that was a mixed of 2 types of bear with a dash of Ribena while I had a glass of red wine.

The night didn't end well for me though. =( I think it's either the wine I had or the fact that I took my Meds earlier today or a combination of both. Anyways, the night ended with me feeling woozy and dizzy and I was breaking out in cold sweat.

It sucked the life outta me for me to just dragged myself to the car. Needless to say, the night ended early and we headed back to rest.

Bah.....I feeling old!

It's Official

It finally happened. And it did so during our Japan trip.

On our 3rd night in Japan, Mel brought me to Umeda Sky Tower in Osaka. We went up to the top floor and the view was just breath-taking. The floor was paved with what seemed like millions of tiny stars glistening in the sky and the view we had overlooked the city night life in Osaka.

After quite a long moment of snapping frenzy, Mel told me he had an early anniversary present for me - our 4th year anniversary is in December. We went one level down to the sky tower cafe and took a corner seat overlooking the city lights. He told me he had wrote a poem specially for me and it took him really long to piece it together because he wanted the poem to reflect exactly how he was feeling. When he was halfway through the poem, only then I knew.

Today marks the first day of my 2 weeks compliance leave.

I've been looking forward to it for so long! I have not had a day off since.....May this year, I reckon? But now that I'm finally on my long leave, I feel a little bit lost! I don't know what to do to kill time! I ended up planning activities for the rest of the week till I leave for Japan this Friday. Can't wait for that!

On a separate note, for the month of October, I celebrated 2 birthdays of 2 of my dear loves in my life - My 'lil sister turns 21 and my dear friend Chris turns Forever21.

I'm happy to be able to say that the company event at Universal Studios Singapore is officially OVER! This was an event planned for the employees, in appreciation of their hard work to the bank.

It was a crazy time during the week before the event. The mad rush before the event day - making sure all are in place, nothing has been missed out, all duties allocated and all contingencies planned.

Planning an event for more than 300 employees is no joke. Especially when this is on top of my daily duties at work! Imagine, bosses expecting you to know anything & everything, expecting everything to be done yesterday and demanding co-workers who have no idea the amount of effort that goes behind planning an event of this large scale for them, taking everything for granted.

That being said, the event was a major success! Everyone had an amazing time...even the planning committee members who had barely any time to even breathe in the morning of the event.

Organizing this event would not have been possible if not for my dearest partner-in-crime at work. She is the only one person I know I can always rely on and trust to get things done. Without her, the amount of stressed I had experience this past week would have been too much to bear! She is an amazing person to work with and a friend I must say I am truly blessed to have.

And so, this post is dedicated to my dearest partner-in-crime at work: Christina Wang =)

I was at Universal Studios Singapore today, organizing a company event.

I was sipping my coke quietly in one corner at one of the cafe at USS, Mel's Drive-In, when I sense someone running towards me. Imagine my surprise when I looked up and I saw Drey!! For almost 10secs, both of us could do nothing but shriek! hahaha. That scene we created got the entire cafe customers looking at us, wondering what is wrong with these 2 crazy girl hugging away.

Friends around me are getting hitch one by one! Not that it's a bad thing though... I love weddings. Somehow, weddings make me emotional. Don't ask me why but all those video collage / montage gets me. =x

Anyway, the reason for mentioning weddings - my dear dear friend from SMU, Aileen, got hitched last Saturday at the Ritz. I met up with her for lunch 2 weeks before her wedding to catch up on the happenings since I concluded she will be too busy with last minute wedding preparations and honeymoon stuff nearing the official day. It was a good move cause from what I heard, she barely had enough sleep days before the wedding!

Aileen and her hubby (Eddie) are such a hilarious couple and their wedding photo shoot proves it all! Instead of the typical setting of a bride in her beautiful gown in the middle of an open field or by the beach, this crazy couple went around places in Singapore taking pictures that you can never imagine!

Like for one shot, it's a pix of Eddie (the hubby) sitting on a toilet bowl, reading his newspaper, with his pants down (pixelated at the you-know-where!) while Aileen was standing on a stool with a mad (screaming) Bridezilla face, tossing toilet paper around. You might think they did this in some studio, but as I mentioned, this crazily hilarious couple did this shot in the middle of Orchard Road! I have to take my hats off them for their courage for this shot!

Somehow, her wedding made me tear (again). It's so happy yet sad to see my dear friend moving on to another stage in her life. Makes me nostalgic, thinking about all our crazy memories back in school. My...how much we've grown.

On a side note, I had a little saga with my Tiffany Charm that night.

Mel got the Tiffany Charm bracelet for me as my 24th Birthday gift. Somehow that night, it slipped off my wrist and I didn't realised till I reached home. When I realised I did not have the Tiffany on my wrist, I got so upset! I started searching the car frantically, hoping by some miracle it was left behind there instead of at Ritz. But it was indeed left behind at the Ballroom at Ritz where the wedding was held. Mel immediately called up the folks at Ritz and told them of our lost item, hoping somehow one of the staff found it.

Imagine how happy I was when about 2 hours later, we received a call from Ritz saying they found my Tiffany!

When I told Syd about it, she was saying how this was not the first time and somehow, this particular Tiffany loves to play hide-and-seek with me. I sure hope this is the last time it does!

It was a last minute thing, simply because we were deprived. . . deprived of shopping.

Met up with my dearest girlfriends for dinner on Friday and we were all complaining how we needed retail therapy badly. So we made plans to head down to town the very next day for a day of shopping.

Our aim for the shopping trip was to find "amazing gorgeous bargains" and we did just that! All thanks to Penny, who is our amazing bargain seeker!

I went home a happy girl that night....amazed with my loot for the day. =)

Jie starting this "A New Delight for a New Month" thing where the five of us (Mel, Nic, Jie, Mei & I) will pick one dining place every month that we wanna visit and hang for the night. I'm super loving this monthly thing coz it's the one night where we get together and get crazy, with absolutely no barriers!

Last month, we went to Original Sin at Holland for Mediterranean food. This month, we choose to be Italian and headed over to Spizza at Balmore area for Pizza! Service was bad, food was so-so but company was awesome. Not wanting to be one of those old foggies who head home and sleep right after dinner, we headed over to Woods at Dempsey for some wine, cheese and sausages.

En route home from Woods, we were blasting crazily cheesy music (think Spice Girls, Britney Spears etc.) and singing along in the car. Cheesy it might be, it's such fun to sing along to these songs!

Back at the east, not wanting the night to end, we headed over to Esso minimart, grabbed some ice cream, some chips and mixers and it's back home for more drinks and games.

It was some crazy night! But it was just the right amount of fun I needed. Can't wait for next month!

Sometimes it's the little things that matters in life don't you think?

This past week was one crazy week at work! Apart from additional projects and mentoring, I had several events on hand to plan as well. So much so I was rushing from one office to another almost every other day.

So you can imagine how happy I was when the event that I organized was a major success. Everyone had an amazing time I've received so many compliments from my senior management team on the success. It felt really nice to be appreciate. Makes all the hard work worth it. =)

Major success aside, I was so busy I barely had time to eat anything since my lunch till 10pm that night. Mel came to pick me up after the event and the minute I got the the car, I couldn't help but dozed off. I was so tired, I just wanted to hit the covers the minute I reached home. Mel had other plans though. He made me dinner and demanded that I finish up at least half of it so that I will not have gastric pangs in the middle of the night. And once I was done eating, he shooed me into the showers and straight to bed while he cleans everything up.

It's sweet gestures like these that makes me love him even more every day.

We finally collected our new car today.

It has been quite a whirlwind...somewhat.

It all started with Mel complaning that he feels Evanne (our current ride) is too much of a family car. i.e. it's to slow with almost no power. He wanted a faster, more powerful drive and she's definitely not strong on that.

So we started car hunting for a more powerful car. Keeping our current budget in mind, there isn't really many choices to choose from. We ended up choosing the Mitsubishi Colt Turbo. Small and (rather) cute to my liking and fast and (rather) powerful to Mel's liking.

I named our new ride "Coltie". hahaha

I was initially sooooo against this car because of the sound the blow-off releases when you floor the pedal. The first time I heard it while test driving, I literally shrieked "Oh my gwad!!" when I heard the sound. But I guess, I will learn to dislike it less in time.....

Alhough, I do have to admit that I am enjoying the extra power our new ride gives. =)

My head has been hurting so much lately. I'm not sure if it's the new vits that I'm talking or that I'm squinting at my computer screen for too long without taking a break but this whole dizzy/nauseating feeling is irritating me!

I feel like I'm never in top form for long coz I can't really concentrate. I've been to the doctor but what more can I tell him exactly? That I'm having really bad migraine? He'll just load me with more painkillers.

And because of the crazy headache, I can't get to sleep every night even after hours of tossing and turning in bed. And I can't get outta bed the next morning because I'll be so tired!

Sigh...I'm not loving any moment of this.

Combined Babies

Drey & I have always talked about having a combined Birthday Celebration. We have been best friends like forever and our birthdays are just 2 weeks apart. Yet somehow, we just never did. This year, we finally got down to organizing and holding one together!

And I have to say, the party was definitely one of the best parties I've had. It might be a small party but it's filled with people that I really care about; close friends and family. We spent the entire night talking and laughing. . . all the way till 4am!

Pictures of the night are still with Mr Chicken, who was appointed (or sabo-ed by default for being best friend to the boyfriend of the birthday girl i.e. Me!) as the official photographer for the night. Will upload once I get them from him!

On a separate note, Mel & I met up with Drey & Chieh for Brunch at Privé on Drey's actual birthday itself. Just a simple brunch for us to catch up on lost time while the guys entertained themselves.

The Good Husband

Jack wakes up with a huge hangover after attending his company's Party.

Jack is not normally a drinker, but the drinks didn't taste like alcohol at all. He didn't even remember how he got home from the party. As bad as he was feeling, he wondered if he did something wrong.

Jack had to force himself to open his eyes, and the first thing he sees is a couple of aspirins next to a glass of water on the side table. And, next to them, a single red rose!! Jack sits up and sees his clothing in front of him, all clean and pressed.

He looks around the room and sees that it is in perfect order, spotlessly clean. So is the rest of the house. He takes the aspirins, cringes when he sees a huge black eye staring back at him in the bathroom mirror. Then he notices a note hanging on the corner of the mirror written in red with little hearts on it and a kiss mark from his wife in lipstick: "Honey, breakfast is on the stove, I left early to get groceries to make you your favorite dinner tonight. I love you, darling! Love, Jillian"

He stumbles to the kitchen and sure enough, there is hot breakfast, steaming hot coffee and the morning newspaper. His 16 year old son is also at the table, eating. Jack asks, "Son.. what happened last night?"

"Well, you came home after 3 A.M., drunk and out of your mind You fell over the coffee table and broke it, and then you puked in the hallway, and got that black eye when you ran into the door. Confused, he asked his son, "So, why is everything in such perfect order and so clean? I have a rose, and breakfast is on the table waiting for me??"

His son replies, "Oh THAT... Mom dragged you to the bedroom, and when she tried to take your pants off, you screamed, "Leave me alone, I'm married!!"

I woke up today past 11am because I'm just too tired and the bed was just too comfy. I've been sleeping quite a bit lately but I still feel so tired all the time! I'm not sure if it's because of the fact that I've been dreaming every single night. Dreams that are just really my everyday activities with a wack ending. Beats me why!

Mel was up early at 7am today. He was the organizer for some company event and needed to be away from 7am till about noon. He told me to sleep in and that he'll wake me up when he's back. At 11.30am (or so), I heard the door opening with a slight rustling sound that I immediately know of - MacDonalds' Ice Milo! The distinct sound of the ice hitting against the cup. *Yeah.. that's how often I eat Macs Breakkie coz I love 'em!*

It was so nice to wake up to MacDonalds breakfast! It's such a sweet gesture from his. Especially when he's been out the whole morning busy with his work stuff. . .And when he returns, the one thing he never ever forgets is to feed me. How sweet. =)

And Mel's mummy didn't know that he had already got me breakkie. She was worried that I didn't have food when I woke up and she cooked me lunch as well. So as you can imagine, I had a super full brunch today.

But I feel so loved!

The Meet Ups

I'm having a rather nice week this time round, and it's all because of meet ups. Such food for the soul. =)

1st Meet Up:

Quick dinner at Sushi Tei with Syd on Monday night to catch up on the happenings. Babe texted me for a meet up since Im back from Hong Kong.

2nd Meet Up:

Met up with Jason on Wednesday night at Timbre for dinner and some drinks. We've been planning to meet up for a really really long time but somehow our schedule just clashes and we can't seem to find a time when we're both free (though I have the admit the culprit was usually me).

Wednesday meet up ended up being super spontaneous and last min. Poor him ended up having to wait more than 30 mins for me coz I was stuck at work. **I'm sorry!**

Anyways, it was really nice to finally meet and catch up on the happenings in each other's life, laughing at stupid jokes and reminiscing the past. It's hard to explain but I know I can tell him anything and everything and not worry that he will judge me at all. And he knows that he can do the same and I won't judge him at all either.

We were counting the years and it amazed us that we've been friends for about 16 years now! I mean, we're old friends, but we didn't realised it's that old! That's probably why we won't judge each other. Coz we practically knew each other since we were babies.

Anyway, I was too tired (& mildly high) to snap a pix of myself so it's just him and the food.

3rd Meet Up

Was supposed to meet my dearest bff, Drey, for our yoga sesh tonight but we were lazy and ended up doing a double date with our darls' at Brewerkz. Feels really nice to finally meet up with her for dinner coz it's been a while. She's another busy bee just like yours truly. Imagine that! It's almost impossible to schedule girlie time this way. But we're determined to make more time for each other starting today.

Let's keep our fingers crossed!

I know it's likely more than half the population already has this little gadget in their hands but soon it will be in mine!!

I've waited really loooooooooooooooooooooooooong for this beautiful baby (you have no idea), and Mel just told me that he'll be getting this pretty gadget for my two-five this year! Yipeeeeeeee!!

Was initially torn between the BlackBerry and this and it took me real long to finally decide on the iphone. Now I'm torn between the black or the white one. . . Leaning towards the white one though.

Touched down at about 1am on Thursday night, slept at 3.30am and went to work the very next day. I was super duper tired at work on Friday. Tried my very best to stay awake the entire day. By 10pm, I was totally overwhelmed and the Z-monster took me to Zzzz Land.

Hong Kong trip was quite fun, probably coz of the company i.e. my family. Did not get to buy much stuff though. Didn't really wanna get the street-style clothes coz I've out-grown that style and the quality isn't fantastic either. Ended up buying minimal items with not-so-minimal pricetags. Was fun to see my dad and mum all kiddish at Disneyland though. =)

Anyways, was supposed to get my i-phone today but somehow due to some unforeseen circumstances, I can only get it next weekend. Sucks coz I've been waiting for it like F.O.R.E.V.E.R!!

Sigh. What's one more week right?

I'm back!!! The trip was amazing!!

I remembered I was rather apprehensive of this trip and only agreed to it because Mel was so excited about having an all-adventure trip. I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised. This trip was definitely out of my comfort zone. I have to admit I am not a sea sports kinda girl. I mean, I do go for diving trips, jet-ski etc, it's usually because someone else initiated it. You'll know it's initiated by me if it's a trip to New York or Milan. Hehe.

Anyways, dumb dumb me forgot to bring my camera charger for the trip! And camera died on me mid-way of our 3rd day adventure. So quite a number of pixs are with Mel (camera phone) so will post the pictures up soon.

Flying off tomorrow afternoon with Mel to Kota Kinabalu. This is definitely his trip because I would never have initiated such a sporty and adventure-filled holiday trip.

The plan is as such:

Day 1 (Arrival 7pm) : Dinner and bed time

Day 2 (Starting 8am) : White-Water Rafting

Day 3 (Starting 8am) : Full Day Dive

Day 4 (Tentative) : Cave Trekking or 2nd Day Dive

Day 5 (Depart noon) : Home Sweet Home

It' basically sun, sand, sweat and sea for 3 full days straight. It's not that I do not enjoy such adventure trips. I do!! I loved trills! Keyword is loved. Somehow the adventurous me have died years ago and every holiday trip I planned these days revolves around shopping and/or sight-seeing. Am I getting boring or what??

Although I am a little apprehensive about the trip, I have to admit that I am actually looking forward to it at the same time. I guess it's about time to revive the adventurous side of me (or what's left of it) and enjoy the trip Mel has planned.

Since it was pig-out weekend the week before, we decided Good Friday was "Get-Fit-Friday"!!

Was supposed to be a jog in the morning, followed by cycling at the beach and finishing off with a swim at the clubhouse. But it ended up with only.....cycling at East Coast Park. haha. Talk about being lazy.

And so, the plan was to head over to ECP for a full day of cycling fitness. When the foggies heard we were gonna go to ECP, they decided it's also time for a family picnic and gai-gai time for dearest princess pebbles.

Kelvin (my hairstylist) decided it's time for a change and he snipped my fringe off! So now I have bangs...again! While it's cute, I really can't stand the period when you have to grow out your bangs. Those of you who had bangs before will know what I mean.

Tiffany's Escapade

Friends of mine will know I always have my Tiffany charm bracelet on. . . no matter the occasion. Be it for brunch with my sisters or for a wedding dinner, you can always spot my Tiffany charm bracelet on my right wrist.

So guess my dismay when I could not find it one morning in December last year. I am certain that it's not lost but simply misplaced. Thing is, I've tried searching so many places, including turning all my bags / purses/ pouches in-side-out but it was still missing! I even got Mel to search his room but we still could not find it.

I get extremely upset every time I think about it. It' not losing the item that gets me upset, but the sentimental meaning behind it. It was my 24th birthday present from Mel and it has been on my dainty wrist the minute I got it as a gift.

To be frank, after 3 months of futile search, I was close to giving up hope on ever finding it again.

And then I got this . . . an mms from Mel tonight.

According to Mel, he felt a sudden need to check in one of my (old) bag that was chucked at the back of his wardrobe because somehow he felt Tiffany would be there.

Creepy as it might sound, he was right!! I am one happy girl now !! =D

A whole weekend of birthday celebrations.

First it a small get-together for Quan's birthday. A Wii-&-Wine party at Mel's place.
Pity Penny and Huisy could not join us in the end - Poor penny was a sick puppy and Huisy had to play host to her visiting extended family.

So it was just Drey, Chieh, Mel, Quan & me. Still had an amazing time nonetheless! We had (ordered) Shepard's pie for dinner, accompanied with bottles of vinos Mel & I got from wine company. Talk about great company - Party stated at 8pm and we were still wii-ing at 3am!

We got Quan a bag from Anges b and the gift bag was so huge, drey & I could sit in it!

It's been too long

3 months of inactivity at Pure Yoga. I've been bumming way too long.

I've coined plenty of excuses to not go for the past 3 months:
1. I'm too busy
2. I work too late on weekdays to go for yoga
3. I rather spend whatever time I have on workdays with my family
3. I rather spend my weekends with Melvin
4. I rather spend more time with Pebbles
5. I'm feeling nua and do not wanna move except to shop

The list goes on......

However, just that day, Mel told me he will not be able to meet me right after work on Mondays and Wednesdays as he had implemented those days as his "Swim Days". For those days, he will be heading to the clubhouse for a swim after work.

So, instead of sitting around bumming my evenings away, I've decided to implement Mondays and Wednesdays as my "Yoga Days" as well!

Today was the first session of the "Yoga Days". I did 2 classes back to back and it was a.m.a.z.i.n.g! It was such a good session today that I'm already looking forward to Monday's class!! The fact that my dearst bff is joining me for the "Yoga Days" session makes me all the more motivated!

Can't wait! =)

Mel sprung a surprise date on me over the weekend after watching Kumar at the esplanade. He brought me to Donna Carmela at Greenwood Ave for dinner. 2nd time back there but fell in love with the place even more!

Parking there was crazy though! But thank god for Mrs Chicken who was so sweet to let us park at her daddy's company's properties because her house porch was fully parked too!

Mel ordered the Brazilian buffet and I ordered my yummy pasta with a bottle of red. I was so certain on my pasta order until the chef started serving Mel's Brazilian buffet. Then I was sold!

Donna's boss was super sweet! I wanted to switch my order to the Brazilian buffet but was contemplating because I was worried my pasta might already been done.

But all Donna's boss said when he overheard my request to his staff was "Don't worry about it. It's done. Enjoy your buffet!"

I love great service!!!

You know how you always receive those random emails from work?

Recently I've received one that struck a note with me. The email was mentioning how women's expectation of their man decreases as the dating years progresses.

For example:

At 20, what women seeks in men:

1. The guy has an amazing body

2. The guy is athletic and lots of drive in life

3. The guy opens the car door for you

etc.

At 40, what women seeks in men:

1. The guy does not have a belly

2. The guy has enough drive to get out of the couch

3. The guy does not drive off without you in the car

etc.

There's a whole lot more funny examples but I can't recall them all now.

Anyway, I was saying this struck a note with me because I've heard so many stories of girlfriends about how their boyfriend was a total gentleman when they started dating (i.e. At 20, what women seeks in men). Only to fall into the "At 40, what women seeks in men" category several years after dating.

And after listening to the many stories of other girls, I have to say I am extremely lucky. Because, even after more than 3 years into our relationship, Mel still makes me dinner and opens the car door for me.

I'm in bliss. =)

always a first

And so I'm tasked with the responsibility of planning for our family trip to Hong Kong this year.

I have to say that this is definitely a first for me. I've always had the luxury of allowing the trip to plan by my loves and all I have to do is just show up at the airport with my bags packed.

But somehow, this time round, it's my responsibility to ensure that the trip's all planned - from tickets, to hotel to itinerary. I never realised how vexing yet fun it can be at the same time.

I think I owe my dearest boyfriend deserved a big hug, for being such an amazing holiday planner all this while. The best I've met. . .yet.

Brunch @ TWG

Brunch at TWG... finally!

I've wanted to try brunch at TWG for quite some time. Gotta know if it's better than Marmalade Pantry, which is where I usually do brunch with my girlies.

So, when my dearest bffs can't decide where to do brunch, TWG it is!

Ordered their brunch sets and we had to decide on 3 pots of tea. TWG has an extensive list of tea to choose from. I was really spoilt for choice! We finally decided on the 3: Geisha Blossom, House White Tea and Rose Tea (can't remember the exact name of this!).

Food was average. Dessert was average. Tea was mind-blowing.

Verdict?

TWG's great for afternoon tea with girlies but my favourite brunch place still resides with Marmalade Pantry. =)

Poor Penny was super sick that morning to join us, so it was just us 3 (with bfs)

Perhaps it was due to the constant eating-out that we have been doing lately that's becoming rather draining on our funds. So, Mel decided it was time to be domesticated and whip us some dinner tonight.

We stopped by Cold Storage after our shopping to grab some ingredients for dinner and dessert for after.

The min we reached back home, Mel was transformed into his Jamie Oliver mode and couldn't care about anything else except putting food on the table for both of us.

Funny to see a big guy like him being so comfortable in the kitchen, on a mission.

Makes my heart melt. =)

It's been was a while since the sisters hang and brunch sounds like a good idea to catch up again on a lazy Sunday morning.

I was missing Rider's Cafe's pancakes so we decided to do brunch there, and hopefully catch a glimpse of the beautiful horses. I was superbly satisfied with their fluffy pancakes and Mel's taste buds were teased with their delicious Egg Benedict.

It's really nice to hang with loves and boyfriends. It's like having the best of both worlds. Don't ya think? =)

Lately, I've been spending a lot more time with loves from work.

Although this is my first job after graduation and the first time being part of a (work) team, I have to admit my team really do have great dynamics. Nothing beats having a team that recognises the importance and embraces teamwork like them!

I've seen the posters for this show but have never seen the Official Trailer yet. So when Mei told me that she teared while watching it in the theatres, I was determined to catch a glimpse of it.

Caught the official trailer and a clip on the actual true story of Hachiko, of which I believe is the Japanese adaptation before the Richard Gere Version.

And now, I would like to share it with you. Because I know you will love it as I did too.

The True Story of Hachiko

The Story of Hachiko

In 1924, Hachikō was adopted by his owner, Hidesaburō Ueno, in Tokyo.

Hidesaburō Ueno is a professor in the agriculture department at the University of Tokyo. Every morning, Hachikō will sent his owner off from the front door. And at the end of the day without fail, Hachikō will be waiting for his owner to return at the Shibuya Station.

This continued until May 1925, when Professor Ueno did not return on the usual train one evening. Unknown to Hachikō, the professor had suffered a stroke at the university that day. He died that morning and never returned to the train station where Hachikō was waiting.

Every evening for the next 10 years, Hachikō continued to wait at the Shibuya train station for Professor Ueno to return from work.

Hachikō died on March 8, 1935, at the very same spot where he had waited for his owner for the past 10 years. He was found on a street in Shibuya. His heart was infected with filarial worms and 3–4 yakitori sticks were found in his stomach.

Hachikō's stuffed and mounted remains are kept at the National Science Museum of Japan in Ueno, Tokyo.

Just last month, I got this pink baby from Mel for Christmas to add to my collection.

And since that very day, I can't help but tap on it every night! Even if it's just to update one tweet! It's super pretty and I really really love it.

Now, if only I have the time to add clear crystals onto the VAIO logo.

Then, it will really be complete.
